Paprika hummus

Must Try

On the fun blog Sarah aan de Kook we came across this delicious recipe for hummus with paprika. Healthy, full of flavor and perfect for a drink or on a sandwich with some grilled vegetables.

  • 300 grams canned chickpeas, drained
  • 6 red pointed peppers
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 full tablespoons of tahini
  • 1 dash of olive oil
  • Juice of two limes
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander seed (ketumbar)
  • Pepper and salt

Heat your oven’s grill to the highest setting and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Cut the bell pepper in half lengthwise and remove the seeds. Place them skin side up on the baking sheet and bake until they start to blister.

Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the peppers cool. Remove the charred skin from the peppers and place the peppers together with all the ingredients in a blender or food processor. Mix until you have reached the desired thickness and texture. Taste and season with salt and pepper if necessary.
