Handy: freeze granola!

Must Try

We at Culy love granola; especially the  homemade  variety. But did you know that you can also freeze granola?

Our favorite recipe:

  • 50 grams of rye flakes
  • 50 grams almonds, roughly chopped
  • 50 grams of sunflower seeds and/or pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 50 grams of raisins
  • pinch cinnamon

The trick is to pack the granola in an airtight container, preferably as full as possible (so with as few open pieces in the container as possible). If you have a vacuum device, even better! The granola can be kept in the freezer for up to 3 months. Leave the container or bag on the counter overnight and the next morning you will have a cracking tasty granola.

1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Place all ingredients in a large bowl and toss with your fingertips until everything starts to clump together.

2. Line a baking tray with baking paper and spoon the mixture onto it. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, crumble into pieces and let cool further. Serve with yogurt and a little bit of icing sugar.
