Banana split is one of our  guilty pleasures  for dessert: it’s terribly retro, but so delicious. And ultimate youth sentiment! But why should you only serve this dish as dessert? Just as delicious as breakfast !

For 1 serving:

  • 1 ripe but firm banana, peeled
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons strawberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon slivered almonds
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate chips or sprinkles

Traditionally, a banana split consists of two banana halves and scoops of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream, a nice drizzle chocolate sauce, chopped nuts, whipped cream and sweet cherries.

Cut the banana lengthwise and place the two halves on a nice plate. Hollow out the inside of the banana a bit so that they become boats. This is most convenient with a spoon, and of course you can enjoy the banana on the spoon!

Spoon the yogurt into the banana halves and spoon the strawberry jam on top. Finish with the slivered almonds and the chocolate chips or sprinkles. Enjoy it!
