Today another delicious recipe from the inspiring blog of  René e Kemps . This time Renée made oatmeal with poached pear, dates and almond. In our opinion, the perfect combination of a culinary and healthy breakfast. 

For 1 person:

  • 90 grams oatmeal flakes
  • 240 ml milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla paste
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 pear
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 120ml water
  • 2 dates
  • 12 almonds
  • Honey to serve

Heat the milk in a pan. Cut the pear into thin slices, place in a frying pan and pour over the water. Add the cinnamon and let it come to a boil.

When the milk is warm, but not yet boiling, add the oats and vanilla. Stir well every now and then. When the water in the pear has evaporated, add the honey and carefully turn the slices over.

Cut the dates in half and remove the pit. The oatmeal porridge is ready after about ten minutes, when the flakes have (almost) completely absorbed the milk. Pour into a large bowl or plate and carefully place the pear slices on top. Finish with the dates, almonds and some cinnamon powder. Pour some honey over it if you want.
