How do you make your own hummus? With this basic hummus recipe you can make a delicious spicy and creamy chickpea dip in a few seconds! Includes helpful video.




 Drain the chickpeas and place them in a food processor (reserve a few for garnish). Add the rest of the ingredients (except the bread) and mash until fine. If necessary, add a little extra olive oil to make the mixture a little smoother. Taste to see if additional herbs are needed.

 Place the hummus in a bowl and top with the few remaining chickpeas. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of paprika. Serve the homemade hummus with some (pita) bread. Store the hummus in a tightly closed container in the refrigerator.
