Between all the exotic dishes such as couscous, risotto and quinoa, I can really enjoy a Dutch meal. Especially potatoes, sometimes I forget how delicious they are.

That’s why I was excited when I heard that I could test the new potato wedges with the taste of fresh herbs from CêlaVíta. And my Bloginsiders are also lucky, because they will soon be working with it too. A good time to put that Dutch meal on the table again, but of course with a nice twist!

You might think, potato wedges with herbs isn’t all that new after all. Well, then you’re wrong. The CêlaVíta Flavor of Fresh Herbs potato wedges in their skins are seasoned with a tasty herb paste without preservatives.

Because most potato wedges or products are seasoned with dry herbs, this does make a difference, especially in taste. When you use the spice paste, you can taste the pure taste extra well in the potatoes. So it seems like I picked the herbs from my own (still in the making) vegetable garden and added them! The dried variants also sometimes contain hard pieces of herbs, which I personally do not like.

These new fresh and honest potato wedges come in 2 different flavours: basil & garlic and thyme & sea salt. The first is located at the AH and Jumbo in the refrigerator compartment and the second only at the AH. I used the CêlaVíta Basil Garlic Potatoes as a base for my stir- fry . Because this product already contains a lot of extra flavor, you don’t have to add any spices to the stir-fry, so it’s super easy! Extra tip: by only adding the vegetables at the last minute, the potatoes have enough time and space to bake until crispy.

With this spicy potato stir-fry I made my own snails. I hadn’t eaten this in a long time, let alone made it myself. And it’s really not difficult, below I show you step by step how to make them. And once you’ve tasted these homemade slavinken, you won’t want anything else!

Recipe potato basil stir-fry with homemade lettuce finches



450 gr CêlaVíta Flavor of Fresh Herbs Basil Garlic
1 bell pepper, in strips
1 red onion, chopped
250 mushrooms, sliced
​​2 portions of finches (8 pieces)

Pesto dip:
2 tablespoons Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons crème frache
Pinch of black pepper
1 tablespoon pesto


Prepare the slavinken according to the recipe or buy them ready-made. Heat a little oil or butter in a (wok) pan. Fry the onion and add the potato wedges and fry until almost cooked through. Then add the bell pepper and mushrooms in pieces and stir fry for a while.

Meanwhile, fry the slavinken in another pan without oil or butter. Turn them regularly so that they get nice and crispy on all sides. Mix all the ingredients for the pesto dip together. Serve with the potato stir fry with the slavinken and pesto dip
