One of the most famous Greek dishes is the souvlaki. This recipe is delicious from the BBQ. Serve with tzatziki and optional pita bread.




Soak the skewers in water so they don’t burn on the BBQ.
Crush or chop the garlic very finely and add.
Add salt, pepper, oregano and olive oil to the meat. You can use it right away, but it’s still nice to let it marinate for about 3 hours, so that the flavors absorb extra well.
Cut the red onion into wedges.
Thread the meat onto the skewers alternately with the onion.
Heat a grill pan or BBQ and fry the skewers for about 5 minutes until they are nicely browned and still slightly pink on the inside.
Serve with tzatziki sauce and fresh lemon slices and optional pita bread.
