Must Try

Delicious Scottish appetizer of shrimp in a whiskey cream sauce with gratin cheese

2 shallots
200 gr cocktail shrimp
100 ml whipped cream
Pepper and salt
Sprig of fresh parsley
4 tbsp grated cheese
50 ml (Scottish) whiskey
4 oven-proof dishes

Butter the ramekins and preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Chop the shallots and fry them in the remaining butter until translucent. Add the shrimp (with or without tails) and fry for a minute. Add the whiskey and stir for 2 minutes. Reduce the heat to low and add the whipping cream and parsley. Stir and remove the pan from the heat after a minute. Season the mixture with salt and pepper. Divide everything between the dishes and sprinkle the cheese over it. Place the ramekins in the oven for another 5 to 8 minutes until the cheese has melted.
