Christmas Cookie Lasagna Dessert

Ingredients

Scale

Cookie Layer Ingredients

    • 2 cups crushed holiday cookies (like gingerbread or peppermint-flavored)

    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Cream Cheese Layer Ingredients

    • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened

    • 1 cup powdered sugar

    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    • 1 cup whipped topping

    • 1 cup whipped topping

    • 1/2 cup crushed holiday cookies for garnish

    • 1/4 cup chocolate or caramel sauce (optional)

    • Fresh mint leaves for decoration (optional)

Instructions

Prep

    1. Begin by crushing your holiday cookies into fine crumbs. I usually use a food processor for convenience, but a zip-top bag and rolling pin work just as well.

    1. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed cookies with ½ cup melted butter, ¼ cup granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Mix until well combined.

    1. For the cream cheese layer, beat 8 ounces of softened cream cheese with ½ cup powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

    1. In a separate bowl, fold in 8 ounces of whipped topping gently until the mixture is fluffy and well incorporated.

Assemble

    1. In a 9×13-inch dish, start by pressing half of the cookie mixture evenly into the bottom to form the base layer.

    1. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the cookie layer, smoothing the top with a spatula.

    1. Repeat the layers, adding the remaining cookie mixture followed by the rest of the cream cheese mixture. Gently spread it to the edges for an even finish.

    1. For an added touch, drizzle chocolate or caramel sauce over the cream cheese layer before chilling.

    1. Cover the dish with plastic wrap or aluminum foil, ensuring a tight seal to keep the flavors intact.

    1. Place the dessert in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, but I prefer leaving it overnight for the layers to meld beautifully.

    1. Before serving, garnish with crushed cookies and fresh mint leaves for an extra festive flair. Enjoy every delightful bite!
