Our favorite coffee to-go when we’re in the mood for something sweet? Caramel Macchiato! You can of course also make it at home with good espresso and whole milk.
- 2 tablespoons caramel syrup
- 125 ml fresh espresso
- 250 ml steamed and frothy whole milk
- optional: 3 tablespoons caramel sauce (thicker than the syrup)
Make good espresso, make sure it is strong. Steam and froth the milk (see eg here for tips).
Put the espresso in a mug, add the caramel syrup (can also be another flavored syrup) and stir. Add the warm and frothed milk and finish with drizzles of caramel sauce
You can make the Caramel Macchiato as elaborate as you want, for example with whipped cream on top or caramel biscuits sprinkled over it.
