Fast & healthy breakfast: warm oatmeal porridge with cinnamon, nuts & fruit

This recipe is quick, relatively cheap, healthy and delicious to start the day with: warm oatmeal porridge with cinnamon, pecans & fruit.

For 1 person:

  • 1 cup milk (cow’s milk, almond milk, rice milk)
  • half cup of oatmeal
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • your favorite fruits
  • your favorite fruit nuts
  • optional: 1 tablespoon cane sugar

Heat 1 cup of milk (cow’s milk, almond milk, rice milk, whatever you like!) with half a cup of oatmeal (regular cheap  rolled oats from the supermarket or health food store) and the cinnamon in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Let it cook for a few minutes until the milk has been absorbed by the oatmeal and a firm mass is formed. Let cool a little bit.

Serve with your favorite fruits and nuts (we chose blueberries, raspberries and pecans) and if you like it sweet, with a tablespoon of (cane) sugar. Enjoy it!
