Delicious breakfast: 5 x toast with sweet butter

Must Try

How is it possible that something as simple as toast with butter is so delicious? Sprinkle with some coarse sea salt, or decorate your toast with one of the sweet temptations below.

maple syrup

The hit of the moment is toast with butter and maple syrup . Pour a little bit of syrup over the buttered toast or mix the butter with a little maple syrup beforehand. And do you really want to party? Then sprinkle with small pieces of crispy bacon!

Tip: don’t have maple syrup at home? Then just use honey!

chais

For a slightly spicier result, mix the butter (at room temperature) with some chai spices . Use very little and you have a bomb of taste! Can’t find the spice mix? Then use speculaas spices.

Jam

Are you a real  sweet tooth ? Then mix beaten butter with a spoon of jam of your choice. We love apricot jam, but any kind will work. As far as we’re concerned, it’s tastier than regular bread with butter and jam, and also a lot more subtle in taste.

cinnamon coffee

We once made coffee butter during a butter making workshop. The flavor comes out subtly, but screams breakfast! Use espresso powder or ground coffee beans for this and mix with a pinch of cinnamon and brown sugar if desired. Here too, a pinch per slice of bread can be enough.

lemon curd

Finally, a combination of pure luck; butter with lemon curd ! Mix the two together beforehand, or spread warm toast with butter and then with a generous spoonful of lemon curd. Breakfast has never been so delicious.
