There is a new monthly overview online with an update about my cookbook, new products on the market and fun hotspots. Especially now that the catering industry is (partially) open again, we can eat out or terraces again.

It was finally time for a haircut at my hairdresser Nienke from Zo Mooi Hairstyling in Eindhoven. So nice to be trimmed again.

During the hot days I often went for an easy and quick meal like this quinoa salad with veggie burger. The recipe will be online but there are plenty of other tasty quick meal salads on my site.

The Big Green Egg was also turned on several times and we made delicious flammkuchen with asparagus and stuffed portobello mushrooms.

Although Eric and I have been home a lot, the weather was nice in May and we occasionally met my in-laws in the garden or Eric’s brother on the roof terrace for a nice cocktail, and let him just own the site Cocktailicious.

A lot of work has been done in between! I have created, photographed and elaborated many new recipes and we are working on the last things for my cookbook. The texts have now been submitted and edited and next week we have to hand in all the photos. It has become more than 100 recipes in total, I hope they all fit in the book.

I’ve had a lot of ice creams last month. I like all ice creams; water ice, scoop ice cream and soft serve ice cream, but with disco dip 🙂

I received a box with all regional products directly from the farmer via Boerschappen and also recipes for a star meal invented by Dick van de Treeswijkhoeve. I started working with this at home and cooked a 3-course star menu. It was a bit more work than I’m used to but it was really delicious! View the recipes of the star menu here .

Payo loved the warm weather, he is originally from Spain and prefers to bake in the sun all day.

Fortunately, I also saw my nephew and niece more often in the month of May. Have fun playing, drawing and running together.

Our wedding anniversary was May 27, when we had been married for 4 years. We usually go out for dinner, but because that was not yet possible at the time, we ordered luxury tapas from restaurant Zarzo, it was really delicious!

And it was also my mother-in-law’s birthday, luckily the weather was nice and we could have a snack and drink in the garden with a small group. She received a beautiful bouquet with meringues, chocolates and marshmallows from Boeketopteeten.

We also ordered delicious Italian that day at La Dolce Vita. I ate bruschettas with tomato and ravioli filled with scallops and my mother-in-law had made some kind of anti pasta.

Also ordered delicious sweet potato fries and a vegetarian croquette sandwich at Calypso. And that croquette was almost indistinguishable from the real thing.

I received delicious food mail again. These cans of YaYa Kombucha in different flavors. Kombucha is fermented tea with a source of B vitamins, amino acids and organic acids.

From Gro I got a box with their sausage and burgers that consist of half meat and the other half oyster mushrooms. This way, less meat is needed and you have a nice juicy ‘piece of meat’.

Zonnatura has new muesli with vegetables, namely with beetroot and apple. This muesli is without added sugars and completely whole grain.
