The month of March brought some changes! Fortunately all good and positive changes, and we went away for a week! Read along quickly:
At the beginning of March, the renewed site of Leukrecepten went online! After six months of working behind the scenes, the moment was finally there! In fact, the new site already feels completely familiar and as if it has always been this way. To read more about the new features, click here.
To celebrate this we went out for dinner at our favorite restaurant in Nuenen: pezzaz. The food here is always top notch and so is the atmosphere and service. I went for the shrimp tempura and the portobello with spinach and goat cheese.
We unexpectedly got a new pet this month. It’s a bizarre story, Eric had bought a bunch of flowers including the tropical heliconia flower. When I threw away the flowers after more than a week, there was an ini mini frog in the water in the vase. Via Instagram I received tips and messages that it was an African reed frog. Now we have made a kind of terrarium in a pot and he is fed fruit flies and our little green friend is doing very well.
From 11 to 17 March it was the week without meat. I also participated in this myself and only vegetarian recipes came online that week. I also received the new book De Vegabijbel from De Hippe Vegetariaanse, initiator of the Week without meat, with lots of tasty inspiration. Read the review of the Vega Bible here .
The weather was very changeable in March, from sunny warm days to days with only rain. This did bring some nice pictures like this rainbow I spotted when I was walking with our dog Payo.
It’s Easter in April, so I had already started working on new Easter recipes in March . These will be online in the near future! I made, among other things, a very tasty Easter cheesecake with eggnog. So there is still a lot of goodies waiting for you.
We often visit family on Sundays, and because we don’t have children of our own, it is extra fun to do fun things with our nephew and niece, such as the Who am I game.
I love to walk around the center of Eindhoven and have lunch or grab a terrace when the weather is nice. I do this far too little. But it is also extra fun when I eat a delicious waffle on the terrace at one of my favorite hotspots Waffelicious. Double enjoyment!
The last week of March we went for a week driving around Andalusia, southern Spain. This was a perfect combination of culture, nature and relaxation, and of course good food! We started in Malaga where we ate delicious tapas and drink sangria and visited the botanical garden.
Then we continued to Nerja where we visited the balcony of Europe and ate tasty paella by the beach. Then we visited the city of Granada, very different again. A bit busier and also cold at night but also beautiful.
One of the most beautiful places was the El Torcal mountain range inland. Also here it was very cool but breathtaking! We had a nice walk and took many beautiful pictures.
The last two days we went to relax in Marbella where we also had some rain but luckily also sun. Here too we ate delicious tapas and grilled fish and discovered nice hotspots. Soon I will share these hotspots of our trip in a blog.
Hopefully the month of April will bring good weather because this foretaste in March leaves you wanting more. For example barbecue. We are also going to Berlin for a weekend to finally hold my brother’s twins. Do you want to stay informed about new recipes, facts and personal updates? Then follow me on Instagram.
