Must Try

How was the first month of the new year? And have I made any resolutions? You can read it in this new monthly overview! 

I started the year with a visit to my hairdresser Zo Mooi Hairstyling in Eindhoven. Another fresh coupe to start the year right.

I stood in front of the camera, Eric took new pictures of me and tasty recipes. This is for a new project that we are working on in the background. Soon I will tell you all about it, also follow me on instagram to be the first to know.

Eric and I went to World of Dino’s for an afternoon with our nephew Vigo, a 2 week exhibition with life-sized dinosaurs. Vigo is now 5 and thinks anything with dinosaurs is cool.

Then we went to eat pizza at De Pizzaplaats in Eindhoven. This restaurant is not in the center but on the Leenderweg and they have super tasty fresh pizzas! And is also very suitable for kids.

I also made a few goals for 2020: more sports, more vegetarian/vegan cooking and trying to let go of more things. I am working on all three goals and are going very well. I now work out twice a week and go to yoga once for more relaxation. And I really enjoy experimenting with plant-based recipes.

I also went back to work for a day behind my laptop at the Library in Eindhoven. I think this is an ideal place to work outside and they have great coffee, lattes and lunch dishes.

Because it’s almost Valentine’s Day, I received a delicious food post from Tony’s in the shape of a heart in the taste of milk, raspberry and rose. The bar didn’t make it to Feb 14 but I did share it with Eric 🙂

Jaimy and I are together twice a month in my kitchen to make new recipes. In addition, we also get along very well, and so do our men. So we went to have a bite to eat together at Piet Hein Eek, a restaurant with a great interior where they work with a lot of fresh and seasonal products.

Eric and I are both self-employed and the month of January also means doing the administration together behind the computer. And how pleasant it is when Payo also ‘lends a hand’.

I myself also cooked a lot of new and existing recipes this month, such as gado gado . This is and remains one of my favorite vegetarian dishes.

I like to visit new restaurants in Eindhoven (although I can’t keep up with it all lately). So we went for a bite to eat at Aperitivo, the new sister of Martini’s at Roma with tasty itapas (Italian tapas) on the menu.

Unfortunately in January there was also sad news, Eric’s grandmother passed away at the age of 95. She was able to taste a lot of cakes and pastries that I made for LeukRecepten and through her and my mother-in-law I was introduced to Indian cuisine. Rust in Vrede.

Eric and I went to Antwerp for 2 days. For fun and to attend a show by the philosopher Yuval Noah Harari in the Sportpaleis.

We also had a delicious meal, I went for chicory from the oven and Eric for Belgian-style mussels with fries, of course.
