The month of April is over. It was a bizarre month due to the coronavirus, but a kind of peace has returned and we enjoyed a lot at home in the garden in the sun.
Like almost all of the Netherlands, we have been busy in the garden, cleaning the patio, removing weeds, etc. Our pond was also cleaned and our fish were happy again!

Yes, we have had our Big Green Egg on again, so delicious! Although you can also use it in the winter, it mainly turns on in the summer with us. We made delicious pizzas on the pizza stone. That was a pleasant moment.
In addition to cleaning and tidying up, we also pimped our garden. We had ordered an umbrella, new cushions and a nice outdoor rug. Really happy with our cozy corner now. Tip: at Volero they have many beautiful outdoor (and indoor) rugs.
We regularly met the family online to catch up. Also our dog Payo was usually first rank watching and listening. I wonder if he would really recognize them from a screen…
At the beginning of April it was of course still Easter, this year was very different. We usually go to brunch with the whole family, but that was not possible this year. I did enjoy a nice Easter breakfast with Eric, which we ordered from Anne & Max in Eindhoven.
King’s Day was also very different this year. Although there were also many fun online activities and very fun and original ways were devised to celebrate King’s Day. I posted this tompouce cake which was a huge success!
Although we still couldn’t go out for dinner, we did order a 4-course menu at our favorite restaurant Pezzaz in Nuenen. That was enjoying at home and you also support restaurants and entrepreneurs in this way.
In April, Bonduelle distributed more than 8,000 bags with products to healthcare staff at hospitals and healthcare institutions in the Eindhoven region. I was allowed to support this local action and went to the Elkerliek hospital in Helmond to hand out the first bags. It was great to be a part of this.
I got tasty and ice cold food post! The new Cornetto mermaid with matcha and raspberry ice cream. I found it very fresh and sweet. It is available in a mini version in the supermarket and in a normal size at gas stations and other points of sale.
I bought a cast iron poffertjes pan and made delicious poffertjes. It took me a while to get the hang of it but after that it went fast and before I knew it I had baked a good mountain. The recipe for poffertjes with tips can be found here.
Time to relax. Eric’s brother Bart made delicious cocktails and I got to taste a few like this Blue Hawaiian. That was fun in the sun.
A while ago I planted a few stubs of spring onions in my mini vegetable garden and more than a week later they had become big spring onions. Therefore, do not throw away the last pieces of spring onions, you can also put them in a glass of water.
The new Delicious also fell on the doormat! The May issue and the salad special. They are beautiful again. I can enjoy it in the garden.
