Making dog biscuits

Must Try

On October 4, almost all pets are put in the spotlight. This time our dog is also spoiled in a culinary way, namely with homemade dog biscuits.

Sawyer is a Beagle almost 4 years old. He is the dog of my in-laws, but it also feels a bit like my dog. Hopefully someday in the future I will have some more free time so that I can get a dog of my own. Now I just enjoy playing with Sawyer, cuddling and going for walks every now and then. Sawyer, like all beagles, loves to eat, he is always looking for crumbs on the floor and will do anything for a tasty reward. He is also a very sweet, social, stubborn and special dog. He often sleeps on the couch, but also likes to play games and sniff in the woods. Cheese makes him wild, so I baked cookies especially for him with grated cheese in them. And how he liked them! Constantly he walked after me, drooling; Can I have 1 more cookie, please!

Tricks and commands: sit, lie, roll, stay, in step, the eight, catch
Favorite place to sleep: on the couch, cozy between everyone
Favorite dessert: banana custard
Favorite game: hiding something (without cheating) and then sniffing Greatest
Fear : A hot air balloon flying over ‘his’ garden

Recipe for dog biscuits with cheese

Do you also want to spoil your dog with these delicious cookies, this is the recipe for about 30 pieces;

250 gr flour + for dusting
50 gr lean beef tartare or minced meat
50 gr grated cheese
75 gr oatmeal + extra for dusting
160 ml chicken or beef stock

Baking tray lined with baking paper.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Mix the flour, cheese, oatmeal and meat together with a fork. Pour in the stock little by little and knead with your hands into a smooth ball. If it is still very sticky, add a little flour. If the ‘dough’ is too dry, add a few drops of water. Knead it into a firm ball and roll it out on a floured work surface to about 0.5 cm thick.

Cut out shapes and place them on the baking paper. Sprinkle them with some extra oatmeal flakes and put them in the oven for about 45 minutes until they are crispy. Let cool and store them in a closed box. Give the cookies in moderation and ensure a healthy lifestyle with sufficient exercise.
