Look in the kitchen – September

Must Try

In this monthly overview of the month of September you get a look behind the scenes, you see what was to be celebrated, which new recipes will be online soon and I share new products and nice restaurant tips!

We started the month with a week to Zeeland, Dishoek to be precise. And we were very lucky with the weather. We have seen many golden sunsets.

And good food, especially at the beach bars. And when I saw the padron peppers on the menu, I had to order them, so delicious!

We stayed in the hotel Zeeuws licht and we liked it very much. It is a fairly new hotel with also several studios and large rooms. The breakfast was also great.

And I liked that the menu in their restaurant had many vegetarian dishes such as this watermelon tartare.

And some news from the family. It was our niece Lois’s birthday and she and Payo are two hands on one stomach and he was therefore invited to her party.

And even more great news, because I also became an aunt of another beautiful girl named Mirthe. And in honor of that I made chocolate stall truffles . Tip: pack them nicely in a box and give them as a gift.

We also went out for a day and made a nice walk in Epe. There you have a decking path and the first mushrooms have been spotted!

And in between it was time to snack! A nice drink with it. We deserved it after that long walk.

September is really a festive month because many people in my area have birthdays, and I also turned 35. Sometimes I can’t believe it myself! To celebrate this I made a delicious stroopwafel cake.

And Eric took me out for dinner to restaurant Welp in Eindhoven on my birthday. It was a lot of fun with just the two of you. On to the 36!

And there was also a lot of hard work, sometimes a little too hard perhaps. We are working on a lot of cool new things. Besides a lot of new recipes, some updates have been made to the website and I’m working on 3 new projects. Fortunately, I will be joined by a new colleague in October.

But all that work has also paid off as we have been nominated for website of the year! How cool is that! And I would love it if you would also vote for us, you also have a chance to win great prizes!

There are always a lot of new cookbooks coming out in the fall. That’s how I got the new baking book from Laura’s bakery: The Holiday Baking Book. With lots of goodies for Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day etc.

And I also got special mail from Tony’s. Because they now have a chocolate subscription. This way you get a box with different chocolate on your doormat every month. Also nice to give as a gift!
