In this monthly overview of December you get a look behind the scenes, you see how I spent the holidays and I share nice eating tips and tasty food post.

We started the month with Sinterklaas, together with our nephew and niece we celebrated this at my in-laws. First we sing songs together with our dog Payo in front of the TV.

Although I already had the Christmas recipes ready in November, I still made a delicious cranberry cheesecake last minute . That was really delicious! And I’m glad I was able to share it with you.

I had a nice appointment with a supplier of very nice kitchen items. Soon I will share more about this very cool collaboration! The first projects for 2022 are already planned!

You may have heard that my team has recently expanded with Charlotte, she helps me behind the scenes and every now and then we do a cooking day. Before Christmas (just before the lockdown) we went to eat delicious pancakes at Meneer de Boer in Eindhoven.

I’m working on a cleaning project at home. And that includes our photo studio where we photograph all the recipes. I have selected all the crockery, napkins and cutlery and re-arranged them nicely in the china cabinet. Now keep it like that 🙂

And very nice news in December: we have been named website of the year 2021! Your votes made us not only the best but also the most popular website in the food category. We were pleasantly surprised and received several bunches of flowers at home.

It was also freezing in December, luckily Payo doesn’t care much anymore, but he really didn’t want to go outside his first winter in the Netherlands. He prefers 30 degrees or more and a sun.

Now that the fairly sudden lockdown is back in force, we have to do it again with take away, and at the Philips de Jongh park pavilion in Eindhoven you can also get churros, hot chocolate and snert in addition to fries.

And then it was Christmas! On Christmas Eve Eric and I enjoyed a 5 course menu from Pezzaz at home, we enjoyed it so much!

On Christmas Day, we went to my in-laws for an Italian dinner, and I was responsible for the appetizer. I made mini melanzane di parmigiana. This was followed by stuffed zucchini packages, spaghetti with mushrooms and salmon from the oven. For dessert we had a delicious tiramisu cake with limoncello.

Boxing day my family joined us for a Christmas lunch. We had a delicious soup, quiche and sandwiches. I also made a puff pastry Christmas tree, it will be online next Christmas 🙂

And then it was New Years! We celebrated this quietly and watched the Peter Pannenkoek show on TV and drank champagne and ate oliebollen. Have I made any resolutions yet? I rather call them goals, one of them is a better morning routine and with LeukRecepten we also have very nice plans.

I was sent again, including these crunchy peas from Bites we love. Crispy balls with a layer of chocolate. Vegan, high in fiber and low in sugars. A tasty and healthy snack.

Barebells white chocolate salty peanuts bar, a tasty snack with about 20 grams of protein per bar and no added sugar. Ideal before or after a workout.
