Look behind the scenes – October 2021

Must Try

In this monthly overview of the month of October you get a look behind the scenes, you see what was to be celebrated, which new recipes will soon be online and I share new products and nice restaurant tips!

The month started less well, I was sick for a week. I had a bad flu. Fortunately it wasn’t Corona and Payo was there for extra hugs, but it took some getting used to being sick because that was a long time ago.

This month I also thoroughly enjoyed delicious fresh figs. They are delicious for breakfast, in a salad or as jam. View 10 tasty ideas with figs here .

Our oven was ready for a cleaning! And I leave that to OvenClean. They come to your home to clean the oven, without harmful products. And if you make an appointment and pass on the code LeukRecepten , you will also receive a free dishwasher cleaning.

There were also a lot of tasty new recipes on the schedule, especially autumn and winter recipes such as this delicious casserole with celeriac that will be online soon.

The City Pavilion in Eindhoven has just been completely renovated, and we went here for a nice lunch with the family. And it turned out very beautiful!

Recently I have been taking lessons from a personal trainer, she comes to my home every week to train me physically. I do this through Let’s do it personal training that is by and for women and ideal for when you have a busy schedule.

Our 7-year-old cousin Vigo came to stay with us and I made spaghetti with balls and luckily they were well received. That’s always exciting with kids.

My parents had something to celebrate, because they have been married for 40 years in October. And we celebrated that with the family with a dinner and reminiscing with memories from the photo album.

The last week of October we went on holiday, finally after it had already been postponed 3 x due to corona. Together with Eric’s family including kids we flew to Crete.

The weather was unfortunately not very great, we did have a few days of sun but also a few days of rain.

Eric and I enjoyed this week even more, because it had been very busy with our work. With LeukRecepten we are working on many new projects and Eric at work as an Online Strategist. So that week of rest did us good.

The week in Greece I also really enjoyed the specialties there such as dolmas, Greek salads, baklava and tzatziki. That was fun!

I got a lot of nice mail again, a lot of new cookbooks that came out. You will find these in this blo: 8 x new cookbooks for your wish list . And Tony Chocolonely came up with a mega advent calendar! Behind every door you will find a delicious chocolate, now have to wait until December.

KitKat also came up with a tasty vegan variant and Smooth monkey is now on the shelves at the AH. A ready-made low calorie smoothie based on coconut water and fruit.
