Look behind the scenes – August 2021

Must Try

In this monthly overview of the month of August you get a look behind the scenes, you see which new recipes will be online soon and I share new products and nice restaurant tips!

Have you spotted him yet? You can now easily add the ingredients of recipes to your Albert Heijn shopping basket in 1 click. And hopefully more supermarkets will follow in the future.

Eric and I went for a bite to eat at the Berlage in Eindhoven. Ideal when the weather is nice, because they have a nice terrace at the back, and the menu is also top notch.

You may have already seen it on my social channels but our dog Payo has had surgery, they have removed 2 malignant tumors. Fortunately, everything went well and he is being spoiled extra.

This summer I must confess that I didn’t use the BBQ very often, but when we had visitors I took the chance to make all kinds of goodies for the grill such as skewers with tempeh , stuffed peppers and a delicious couscous salad.

I also started making the first autumn recipes such as a pumpkin quiche and the first stew is already in the picture.

It was our nephew Vigo’s birthday, he turned 7 and we celebrated with delicious cakes and gifts. Like Uncle Eric, he loves to draw, so he got a professional coloring pencils and book.

I try to keep buying new plates, cutlery and props to photograph recipes in check, but I don’t always succeed. I found these nice oven dishes at Hema.

The month of August was also dominated by rain, it was not really nice summer weather. So that meant walking regularly in the rain. Both the dog and owner are not happy about this.

I received a very nice package from Cupplement with sustainable coffee cups for delicious coffee with vitamins. For an extra good start to the day. And with the code ‘leukerecepten20’ you get a 20% discount on your order (fill in at checkout).

Eric, Payo and I went for a picnic in the park on a sunny day. We first picked up a picnic box at Anne & Max with tasty sandwiches, carrot cake, salad and more. That was fun!

Although many people were on vacation, I was just working. I have a week off at the beginning of September. But patience will be rewarded because the weather is beautiful!

We got a guest house! This is Sawyer, my in-laws’ beagle. It was nice to have 2 dogs in the house, and Payo thought it was totally fine.

Do you fancy sushi and your dinner date fancy pizza? Or maybe Turkish? Then the Down Town Gourmet market is ideal. Here you can choose from a lot of different restaurants and you can sit comfortably. And the cocktails are also top notch.

Peanut butter, always good to have at home! And at the Peanut Butter Shop they make it themselves with lots of love. And they have many different flavors, like coconut chili! That one is really great!
