100ml water
Few drops of green pandan paste
1 slice of goula Djawa (palm sugar) a 50 grams
Couple of tbsp grated coconut
100 gr ketone flour (glutinous rice flour)
pinch of salt

Put the coconut in a sieve and pour warm water over it and squeeze the coconut well and keep on a plate. Add a few drops of pandan coloring liquid to 100 ml of water and stir. Pour the green water into the flour and knead into a smooth dough. Put the goula djawa in a mortar and pound into small chunks. You can also put the disc in a bag and smash it. Roll into small balls about the size of a small walnut. Open the balls and put a chunk of goela djawa in it and then close it well again and turn it into a nice ball. Bring a pan with a large amount of water to the boil with a pinch of salt. Add the balls in batches and cook them in the water. They are ready when they float to the top. Remove them from the water with a slotted spoon and roll them in the coconut. They are very sticky so make sure they don’t stick together when you take them out of the water. Continue until all the balls are ready. They are best when they are still slightly warm and the sugar inside is liquid. If you want to heat them up another time, you can do this for a few seconds in the microwave or in a steamer.
