DIY: potato chips from the microwave

Must Try

Recently I’ve been addicted to Pinterest again and I come across many fun ideas, such as these potato chips from the microwave. I don’t use the microwave very often, but that may change after this experiment!

I was very curious whether the potato chips would actually come out crispy from the microwave and whether they could be compared to real chips from a bag. I can answer yes to both!
The microwave chips are of course much less fat than the chips from a bag, but therefore immediately a lot healthier because there is no oil or artificially added flavors. So a perfectly healthy snack!

Tips:
  1. Keep a close eye on the chips when they are in the microwave, they sometimes darken quickly.
  2. To pimp the chips even more, you can also try other spices such as paprika, dried oregano or black pepper. Of course I tested it and it turned out very well, especially the one with paprika.
  3. Also try sweet potato chips.
  4. I cut really thin slices of the potato using the mandolin. If you cut slightly thicker slices, the time in the microwave may be slightly longer. This also applies if you use a microwave at 700 or 800 watts.
  5. Let them cool well, because they will become a bit crispier. Trust me, it’s really worth the wait!
