For this dish it is important that you choose the right fries. One that stays crunchy and on which the topping stays well. That’s why I chose Lamb Weston’s Ziggy Fries . These are serrated with a zig zag shape, which gives them a nice bite and the topping does not fall off. And what’s also nice is that you can prepare them in the oven (or Airfryer). So no hassle with the deep-fat fryer or dirty odors during Christmas dinner.

1 bag of Ziggy Fries a 750 gr
½ red bell pepper
1 avocado
1 spring onion
9 cherry tomatoes
Handful of cheese


Heat the oven to 200 degrees. Spread the frozen fries on an oven rack lined with baking paper. Make sure they are well distributed. Bake for 10 minutes and then flip them. Then place them in the oven for another 8 minutes.

Finely chop the bell pepper, avocado, tomatoes and spring onion. Spoon the fries into ovenproof dishes lined with baking paper. Divide the pieces of vegetables over it and finally some cheese. Place the ramekins in the oven for another 5 minutes or au gratin under the grill for 2 minutes.

Preparation in the airfryer: heat the airfryer to 180 degrees. Bake the fries until golden brown in 12-15 minutes and add the topping during the last 2 minutes.
