Angus burger with tortilla chips

Must Try

Recently I asked you what the ultimate festival burger should look like. And many nice comments have been received, thank you for that! And now I have chosen a winner, read on quickly.

I also made my most delicious festival burger at the invitation of Hellmann’s, you can find the recipe for this Sesame Thai burger here . Hellmann’s is, so to speak, the king of sauces for your burger and should therefore absolutely not be missing on your sandwich.

And now on to the winner, this has become: Nonie van der Munnik. Congratulations! Nonie sent her recipe for a burger with a sesame bun with angus beef, guacamole, tortilla chips and Hellmann’s of course. I found the Mexican flavor combination very interesting. And I had never eaten tortilla chips on my burger, so I was very curious.

I can tell you that this is super tasty, I completely understand why this is Nonie’s favorite burger. Everything is just right, first you get a layer of fresh iceberg lettuce. Then homemade creamy guacamole topped with a juicy angus burger (made from the best beef). The salsa sauce provides a spicy touch. And on top of that comes some tortilla chips for a crunchy bite and last but not least a good dollop of creamy Hellmann’s . That sounds like a mouthful and it is! The combination is really great, you just have to try it. And Nonie thank you so much for this super tasty entry!

Other tasty entries that just didn’t make it but are certainly worth mentioning can be found below, of course with a good scoop of Hellmann’s on it. Handy if you are still looking for inspiration for a burger or are planning a BBQ:

– Burger from the bbq on a sesame bun with lettuce, fried onions, tomato, avocado and Parmesan cheese.

– Turkey burger seasoned in curry with fresh mango and a fresh yogurt-cucumber sauce.

– Portobello burger, avocado, tomato jam and gorgonzola.

– Hard ball with lettuce, chicken burger, raw onion rings, cucumber slices, bean sprouts, peanut sauce and fried onions.

– Salmon burger with avocado sherry tomato lettuce and fried onions

Recipe Nonie’s angus burger with tortilla chips

4 sesame buns
4 angus burgers
½ bag tortilla chips
Jar or bottle of salsa sauce (mild or spicy)
Handje iceberg lettuce

2 avocados
1 tomato, diced
1 garlic, crushed
1 small red pepper, finely chopped
1 lime, crushed
pepper and salt

Cut the bread rolls in half and lightly grill the insides. Mash the avocado flesh and stir in the rest of the guacamole ingredients. Heat a pan or the BBQ and fry the angus burgers nicely brown, they may still be slightly pink on the inside. Spread some lettuce over the bottom of the buns. Top with some fresh guacamole. Then place the burger on top and divide some salsa sauce over it. Crumble the tortilla chips over it and spoon on a generous dollop of Hellmann’s for a creamy end result.

For a quick burger, you can also use ready-made guacamole. And at some supermarkets, a fresh guacamole package is also available that already contains all the ingredients, which is nice and easy.

Tip from Nonie: serve a shot of tequila with the burger for that unique taste. Success assured!
