Party cocktail: tropical elderflower sangria

I have very fond memories of sangria. Especially on the holidays to Gran Canaria and Mallorca. Then quite a few liters of this fruity Spanish wine went through.

I am talking about the classic sangria made from red wine. But if I normally drink a glass of wine, I find white much better than red. So I thought why not make white wine sangria! And that worked out very well! I gave it a tropical twist with fresh pineapple for an extra summery feeling. And I added a splash of Teisseire 0% Elderflower Syrup . This immediately gives your drink a fresh and slightly sweet taste, but no extra sugars.

Unfortunately, we are no longer going on holiday this summer, so I try to enjoy the moments at home extra. For example, on Saturday afternoon when all the household chores are done, I go with Eric and our dog Payo to enjoy our garden, which is in full bloom. A tasty snack and drink should not be missed. And tadaa: there comes that elderflower sangria! So I still feel like I’m on holiday in my own garden.

Cindy Bolleman-Puijenbroek combined the elderflower syrup with champagne brut, mint, lemon balm and lemon slices.

Kimberly Stuiver has also received the package with the syrups and will extensively test both flavors.

Leontien van der Veen made a summer drink with Teisseire strawberry/raspberry lemonade syrup and fresh raspberry and strawberry from her own garden (well, her mother’s).

Nanette Bakkeren-van de Coterlet doesn’t like selfies very much but luckily made an exception for this promotion and is excited to get started with the syrups.

Remke Vet made this Virgin Mojito, her first creation with Teisseire’s elderflower syrup… and it reminds her a lot of my favorite party drink!

Tropical elderflower sangria recipe
CA. 1 LITRE

Ingredients


Splash of Teisseire elderflower syrup
Splash of rum (for example Bacardi)
750 ml dry but fruity white wine
250 ml sparkling water
75 gr pineapple
1 nectarine
Handful of raspberries
1 lime
Ice cubes

Materials
Straws
Carafe or jug

Preparation


Put the wine in the carafe or a large pitcher. Add the rum and Teissere (to taste). Cut the pineapple and nectarine into cubes and add to the drink. Cut the lime into slices and add as well. Stir everything well. Then add some ice cubes and top up the drink with the sparkling water and stir briefly once more. Serve the elderflower sangria in the glasses with a straw and some fresh fruit on the rim.
