Party cocktail: 3 x mojito recipe

Must Try

One of the most popular cocktails is the mojito. And also one of my favorites. It is originally from Cuba and has a nice fresh taste and quite easy to make yourself.

This time I am sharing the basic recipe for this mojito cocktail and 2 tasty variants of it and the winner of the Insiders promotion from Teisseire . Because my insiders have also made a lot of tasty and different drinks with these fruity syrups. They started working with the flavors Strawberry & Raspberry and Elderflower.

After an extensive and even blindfolded taste test during which there was plenty of tasting, it was time to make a drink and photograph it as beautifully as possible. Because the winner with the nicest drink and the most beautiful photo wins a Polaroid Mobile Zip Printer. And the winner has become: Remke Vet from Fitfoodstyle! Congratulations! She made this virgin mojito below and combined Teisseire Strawberry & Raspberry with rosemary and lemon, which I think is a very surprising combination. The photos are also very clean and fresh and they make me thirsty right away 🙂

And now it’s time for my mojitos! Because there must be a toast to this winner :). The base of a mojito consists of lime, mint, cane sugar, rum and sparkling water. But how do you make the most delicious mojito? I’ll give you some useful tips. And I also made a strawberry mojito and a mango mojito, which are also responsible because instead of using sugar I added a dash of Teisseire 0% . This syrup contains no sugar and has a very natural and fruity taste and gives a nice taste to the mojito or other drink.

Tips for making a mojito:

  • If you don’t have a muddler in the house, use the end of a wooden spoon. With this you can mash the limes slightly and stir them through the glass.
  • Serve the mojito extra festive with a lime slice on the edge and/or a sprig of mint in the smooth.
  • Use white rum, preferably from Cuba such as Bacardi or from Havanna club.
  • For an alcohol-free mojito, also called virgin mojito, omit the rum.
  • You can also use sugar syrup instead of cane sugar. Then use about 15 ml per mojito.
  • Shake or stir? Either shake or stir. In some cocktail recipes, the mojito is shaken in a shaker. Of course you can, but I think it’s better to stir it and I don’t have a shaker at home 🙂

Basic recipe mojito

 1 GLASS

Ingredients

1 lime (approx. 25 ml lime juice)
5 leaves of fresh mint
2 teaspoons or bar spoons cane sugar
40 ml rum
Sparkling water Ice
cubes

Materials
Glass
Straw
Muddler or wooden spoon

Preparation

Cut the lime in half and cut one half into wedges and squeeze the other half. Place the lime wedges with the sugar in a glass and tamp with a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon. This releases the flavors and juices of the lime. Add the rum and the rest of the lime juice and stir well again. You don’t want a layer of sugar to remain on the bottom. Then add the mint leaves and ice and stir again. Top the glass with sparkling water and insert a straw and possibly some mint.
