Filo pastry pie with spinach from the Bosch AutoCook multicooker

Must Try

You may have already noticed that I was allowed to give a workshop with the Bosch AutoCook at the end of April. No fewer than thirty selected winners who had registered were present and afterwards also received the Bosch AutoCook to take home. And they have already started working very fanatically, below is a tasty collection.

I also started working enthusiastically with this new multicooker from Bosch. One of my favorites is this filo pastry pie with spinach. The recipe can also be found in the AutoCook cookbook and the brand new app . Of course I gave it my own twist.

In short for those who are not yet familiar with the device: the Bosch AutoCook is a handy multicooker that also functions as a pressure cooker. With the combination of steam and induction, you can quickly create a perfect result. You can steam, bake, cook, reheat, prepare sous vide and stew in it. There are also useful options such as a keep warm function and delayed cooking.

And aren’t you a kitchen princess (or prince)? Then the AutoCook is really something for you. Because you don’t need to be able to cook well for this device, the AutoCook does that for you. This way you can easily and quickly prepare a fresh and healthy meal at the touch of a button. It is also ideal if you have a small kitchen. Because you can cook, bake, heat up, steam and so on in it, it makes your stove, microwave, oven or a separate steamer almost unnecessary.

Experience Bosch AutoCook

During the workshop we made risotto with mushrooms, stuffed peppers with couscous and steamed fish with vegetables. For dessert I made a Spanish lemon cake that ran out in no time. I found the workshop quite exciting in the beginning, but it was really fun! Everyone was really looking forward to it and we had a great meal that day.

The candidates then went to work in the kitchen at home. It was a real joy to see all the goodies that came up on social media with the hashtag #Iedereenkankoken and #preparedhetmetBosch. Some used it several times a day, such as for lunch and dinner. The sous vide function (vacuum cooking) was also extensively tested. Sometimes it was a bit of testing with preparation time or ingredients, but in the end the result was very successful. And I’m curious what else you will make with the AutoCook. Tip: Use the AutoCook app for recipes, step-by-step instructions and recipe videos. In addition, you can easily create a shopping list with the app.

Corina de Bruin made a Boeuf Bourguignon according to the recipe book and a little bit of her own. The result was wonderfully tender. Corina does not consider herself a good kitchen princess, she is not a hero in the kitchen and is very happy that she can prepare something really tasty so easily.

The kids of Jan van Luijn, aged 3 and 6, prove that everyone can cook with the AutoCook. She baked a delicious chocolate cake.

Laura Hoogeveen made the potato stew with chorizo with sweet potato instead of regular potatoes. Because of this the dish could have been a little shorter, but the taste was very nice. Laura loves to cook and the AutoCook saves her so much time, she can also experiment a lot and she likes that.

Steamed buns with pork belly has been on my list to make once for a long time and Lisette Bartels Verheij made them in the AutoCook, resulting in a delicious lunch. “Once you’ve mastered the settings a bit, you dare to try recipes that aren’t in the recipe book, the possibilities are almost endless.”

During the workshop the question arose whether bread could also be baked in it. Well, Louis de Vries has the answer: “Yes and the result was really great! I did not expect to be able to make such delicious bread the first time with the AutoCook. The device is a welcome addition to the kitchen. Even my brother-in-law has now also bought the AutoCook.”

Eva Blokker’s apple pie was also a great success! “I’m experimenting a lot because it tastes like more!”

Rob de Baar made his own pasta sauce instead of buying a ready-made sauce in the store and did not regret it. Easy and delicious!

An incredibly successful tortilla omelet from Johan Verweij. “It really is insanely delicious! High on taste!”

Marc Bos experimented with the pulled pork recipe. Unfortunately, after 8 hours, it turned out that the plastic vacuum bag he had bought was not quite heat-resistant, but the result was very nice and tender meat. His experience: “Handy device. Especially if you understand all the functions and start experimenting with them more, it can save a lot of fumbling in the kitchen.”

A few more enthusiastic reactions from other insiders:

Jessika van den Akker: “I think it is a handy device, with many possibilities. Ideal for the small kitchen. I have made dishes that I did not dare to make before. The site is very useful where you can exchange experiences and tips. ”

Jan van Luijn: “Already replaces several appliances in my kitchen.”

Stephanie Klis: “Ideal appliance, I love that you can make so many different things with it! And it also looks great in the kitchen.”

For this filo pastry cake I used the AutoCook’s baking function . This made the bottom nice and crispy and golden brown. You put the ingredients in it, press the button and you don’t have to worry about it anymore. How easy can it be 🙂

Recipe filo pastry pie with spinach and mint

250 g ricotta
3 eggs
5 sheets of filo dough (thawed)
125 g goat’s cheese
A few sprigs of mint
Handful of arugula
Pepper and salt
Pinch of nutmeg
5 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons pine nuts
225 g spinach leaves (frozen)
40 g bread crumbs

sheet of baking paper

Thaw the spinach. Mix the breadcrumbs, ricotta and eggs. Squeeze the thawed spinach well to drain the excess water. Then finely chop the spinach. Clean the spring onions and cut them into rings. Wash the mint, remove the leaves from the stems and chop finely. Stir the spring onions, herbs and spinach into the ricotta mixture. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Crumble in the goat cheese and fold in. Brush the filo sheets liberally with olive oil and place them on top of each other and cut or trim the corners around.

Fold a sheet of baking paper in the size of the filo dough and place in the pan of the AutoCook. Place the filo dough on this. Divide the spinach-ricotta mixture over the dough and sprinkle with pine nuts. Set the baking program, select medium and set a temperature of 160°C. Close the lid and press Start. Open the lid as soon as the signal sounds.

To prevent the filo sheets from drying out and tearing, you can cover the sheets that have not yet been coated with oil with a slightly damp tea towel.

If you buy the new Bosch AutoCook in the period from April 13 to July 2, 2017, you will receive a return of €50 .
