Festive sandwich sticks

Must Try

Not only the Christmas dinner is a highlight, but the Christmas lunch or brunch can also be celebrated festively and extensively. Because often the focus is on dinner during the Christmas season, but lunch is just as important to me and is often just as nice and cozy.

That’s why I’m sharing these festive sandwich sticks with you. These are easy to make and fun to serve for lunch. They are something different than regular sandwiches and the kids enjoy them too. And they may also want to lend a hand with making the skewers.

One thing all three skewers have in common is the strawberry jam from Hero. This one has a nice fruity taste and combines well with sweet and savory. And did you know that with the flavors of Hero jam you can make an entire Christmas menu from breakfast to dessert? So not only did I get to work with my favorite flavor of jam, but also Mariette who came up with a delicious breakfast recipe and Sabine who started with the appetizer. Then Pauline continues with the main course and Laura closes the menu with a dessert with jam. So check out their creations for the complete Hero Christmas menu. Or look through my Christmas recipes on the site for tasty ideas.

Tips for a delicious Christmas brunch:

  • Open lunch with a nice glass of bubbly. Make it extra festive by putting a teaspoon of Hero jam in the glass and pouring the champagne over it.
  • If you want to make it completely festive, stick a paper star at the end of each sandwich stick. And immediately sprinkle this on the tablecloth.
  •  Instead of on plates, you can also serve the skewers in a glass with a nice bow around it.
  • Complete the lunch or brunch with a delicious fresh smoothie (for example, from fruit that may be left over from the skewers)
  • Put a thermos with tea and coffee on the table to prevent you from running into the kitchen to make new ones.
  • Preferably make the skewers on the day itself, so that the bread stays nice and fresh and the fruit has a nice color.
  • Would you also like to serve something warm with it? How about a nice soup or a mini quiche .
