Chicken Hawaii from the oven with potatoes

Must Try

In between all the festive Christmas recipes, I’m sharing an easy weeknight recipe today. But that doesn’t make it any less tasty or less special. On the contrary, this is one of my favorite recipes from now on.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that the taste is somewhat like a Hawaiian pizza. The combination of chicken, ham and pineapple is really great! And the chicken stays nice and tender under the topping, even when I warmed it up in the oven the next day.

What should not be missing from this dish are the Crispy Mini Bantams from CêlaVíta . I already wrote in one of my previous blogs that I am a huge fan of this new product. Sometimes Bantams are still hard inside after 30 minutes, while the rest of the food is already cooked. You won’t have that problem with these Krusty Mini Bantams. They are guaranteed to be cooked within 10 minutes, trust me I tested it.

If you put the Krusty Mini Bantams in the pan, they may look slightly different than you are used to. This is due to the breading that is around it. But when you bake them, they get a nice golden brown and super crispy. And no, this layer contains no preservatives and allergens and is also gluten-free. Nice!

Do you know someone who is also very good at baking potatoes? Then register him or her here as a bantam king! Every week, 20 people are selected by CêlaVíta who will receive a personalized wooden spatula and acquire the status of bantam king.

Add some beans and you have a delicious AVG (potato, meat, vegetable) meal that is on the table within 30 minutes. Also try with a salad, cauliflower or sauteed spinach.

Hawaiian chicken recipe with Crispy Mini Potatoes

4 chicken breasts
4 slices of ham
4 pineapple slices
Pinch of pepper and salt
Pinch of oregano
60 g grated cheese
2 bags of CêlaVíta Crispy Mini-Chicken potatoes
600 g green beans
Butter for frying and greasing
Watercress or parsley for garnish

Heat the oven to 200 degrees. Season the chicken with salt, pepper and a pinch of oregano. Heat some butter in a pan and fry the chicken on all sides on a high heat for about 4 minutes. Then place the chicken in a greased baking dish. Place a slice of ham on top and wrap something around it. Place a slice of pineapple on top and sprinkle with some cheese. Bake the Hawaii chicken in the oven for another 15 to 20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through (depending on the thickness).

Bring a pan of water to the boil with a pinch of salt and cook the green beans for about 15 minutes. Clean the frying pan or use another pan and heat a little oil or butter in it. Bake the Crispy Mini-Kreeltjes for 10 minutes until crispy and toss every now and then. Remove the chicken from the oven and garnish with some parsley or watercress if desired and serve with the beans and the Crispy Mini-Kreeltjes.
