Delicious variant on the traditional pasta bolognese gratinated with cheese


400 gr half and half minced meat
1 onion
3 cloves of garlic
2 carrots
Small knob of butter
Can of 400 gr diced tomatoes
1 small can of tomato paste
100 gr bacon strips or cubes
150 ml stock
400 g pasta
1 tsp sugar
Pepper and salt
2 tsp dried oregano
100 gr grated cheese
Optional; fresh parsley for garnish

Cut the carrots, onion and garlic into pieces. Brown the minced meat in the butter and add the onion, bacon, garlic, carrots and dried oregano and fry for 5 minutes over medium heat. Add the tomato paste, diced tomatoes, stock and sugar and stir well. Let it simmer and thicken for about half an hour.

Meanwhile, cook the pasta and preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Drain the pasta and add half of the cheese to the sauce. Add some salt, pepper or oregano to taste if needed. Sprinkle the pasta dish with the other half of the cheese and place in the oven for 20 minutes. Remove the pasta dish from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes and sprinkle with a little fresh parsley if desired.
