 Mix the minced meat with the egg, breadcrumbs, pepper and salt. If it is still very wet, add some extra breadcrumbs. Make small balls of it. Heat a little oil or butter in a pan and fry the balls until nicely browned on all sides. Add the bumbu and the indicated amount of water and stir until smooth. Let the sauce with the meatballs simmer without a lid for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, cook the rice.

 Also fry the wok vegetables with some wok oil in a pan together with the sliced ​​​​shiitakes. When the vegetables are almost ready, stir in the peanuts. When the rendang sauce has thickened a bit, serve it with the rice and fried vegetables. Finish the dish with some fried onions and prawn crackers.
