This winter casserole with apple, bacon and kohlrabi is real comfort food

Preparation

 Heat the oven to 200 degrees. Peel the kohlrabi and cut into slices. Boil these for 7 minutes in a pan of water. Cut the apple into thin slices. Fry the bacon slightly crispy in a pan and let drain on a piece of paper. Grease the baking dish.

 Divide the kohlrabi slices over the bottom and pour over the cooking cream. Top with apple slices and fried bacon cubes (reserve a few for garnish). Cover the top of the oven dish with the mashed potatoes. Divide the bacon cubes over it and place in the oven for a further 20 minutes.
