Pumpkin Brownies

Must Try

Deliciously creamy brownies with pumpkin and pumpkin spice give these classic brownies an autumnal twist.

*You can use canned pumpkin puree for this or you can make your own by cooking or roasting the pumpkin in the oven until it is cooked and then puree it with a hand blender.
Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
Melt the butter together with the dark and milk chocolate in a bain-marie.
Meanwhile, beat the eggs with the caster sugar until fluffy. Then add the melted chocolate and mix with a whisk. Sift the self-raising flour over the bowl and fold in until you get a whole. Pour the batter into the baking pan.
In another bowl, combine the pumpkin puree with the cream cheese, icing sugar and pumpkin spice herbs. Mix this until smooth. Spread the pumpkin mixture over the brownie with a spoon and run a knife through it to get a ‘swirl’ effect.
Place in the oven for 30 – 35 minutes. Check with a skewer if the brownies are cooked. They may still be creamy inside.
